November 11, 2024 Lakehouse Studio Release Notes

In this release (Release 2024.11.11), we have introduced a series of new features, enhancements, and fixes. Please note that these updates will be gradually rolled out to the following regions, and the updates will be completed within one to two weeks from the release date, depending on your region.

Incompatible Changes

Permission Management: This adjustment has redefined the scope of default roles, splitting the original workspace_dev role into workspace_dev and workspace_sre roles, distinguishing between development and operations roles. To use operational capabilities, you need to add the workspace_sre role.

Real-time Sync: Added comparison and rollback features based on task version management.
Real-time Sync: Provides quick copy functionality for virtual tables and virtual table rules.
Real-time Sync: Optimized data object selection filtering, adding support for multiple filtering criteria.
Real-time Sync: In maintenance operations, the filtering conditions for supplementary synchronization support multiple selections.
Offline Sync: Supports offline writing for Redis data sources.
Security Center: Global audit, added operation audit for temporary query and execution result download.
Approval Center: In the approved list, supports quick filtering of operators.

Optimizations and Improvements

Global Product: Optimized the overall layout grouping of the primary navigation.
Real-time Sync: Added statistics on the number of source tables for sync objects to quickly determine the addition or deletion of objects.
Task Development: On the task group DAG, a single node supports direct click submission for publishing and maintenance operations.
Task Development: Optimized the way to create folders at the root node when creating new tasks.
Task Scheduling: The cron expression for task scheduling time is translated into a user-understandable format.
Maintenance Center: Optimized the fine-grained permission control capabilities based on roles in the maintenance center.
Data Catalog: Optimized the processing chain for data table structure changes, such as data object creation scenarios, to improve the real-time display of data catalog information.
Data Catalog: Optimized the style of the data management details page, highlighting field details information.
Data Upload: Supports automatic recognition of JSON data format in uploaded files. Currently, only supports recognition with escape characters before double quotes.
Permission Approval: When clicking on permission application, the default is the current applicant as the permission granting user.

Bug Fixes

Approval Center: Optimized the issue where the withdrawal function was not exposed in the list form under the application list page.
Approval Center: Optimized the issue where the page did not refresh after clicking an operation on the approval page.
Permission Management: Optimized the scenario where permissions were cleared when switching between Chinese and English after a new user logs in.
